Talisman Plastics Machine Supplies
To meet a tight commissioning deadline, we installed new supplies for large injection moulding machines at a fully operational plastics facility.
The Brief
We were brought in by Talisman Plastics, a longstanding client, to install power supplies for two new large injection moulding machines at their active manufacturing facility. The key driver was timing – they had commissioning engineers flying in from Sweden and needed the machines fully connected and ready by a fixed deadline.
Because of our ongoing relationship and track record of reliable delivery, we were trusted to handle the project with minimal input and tight coordination around their production schedule.

The Project
The job involved installing a 12-inch cable tray route from the MCCB panel to the machine isolators, followed by the installation of two significant cable runs: a 50mm 5-core SWA and a 35mm 4-core SWA. These supplied the machines via 200 Amp rotary isolators.
All work was completed in a live factory environment, requiring careful scheduling to avoid disruption. We carried out key elements of the install during weekends to minimise downtime and ensure safety – working closely with the production and facilities managers to coordinate around shift patterns and factory operations.
The project was completed over two weeks, delivered by our senior electricians to maintain quality and accountability throughout.

The Outcome
The installation was completed on time and to specification. Both machines had the correctly rated supply, fully tested and ready ahead of the commissioning date. This allowed the client to proceed as planned with the overseas engineers, keeping their production schedule on track.
The upgrade has increased the factory’s manufacturing capacity, giving them new capability without affecting their ongoing operations.
